How to set up MediaDesk
MediaDesk gives a publisher a public news site, an editorial workspace and a Flutter reader app. A useful first release is one publication, one editorial approval path and a small group of test readers.

Set up and test the first workflow
Prepare a staging newsroom
Check the included PHP extensions and choose PHP 8.3 or later and a supported database. Create an empty database and set the staging domain to use the project’s public directory over HTTPS. Build the PHP dependencies with Composer and the front end with npm using the instructions for your release.
Complete the web installer
Open /install. Resolve failed environment checks, connect the new database and create the first administrator. After installation, open System health to check storage, mail and scheduler access. Keep a backup of the database, uploads and configuration.
Publish a sample article
Create separate test writer and editor accounts. Draft an article, review it, publish it and confirm that the reader can see it. Set up the scheduler and a queue worker for features that use background jobs. Configure the Flutter app to use the staging API, then test opening a published article and a sample push on a real device.
Brand it for your business
TechCSC can set up your domain, publication name, typography, navigation and mobile app identity. If you are moving from WordPress, we can scope a trial import and check media attribution and redirects before switching traffic.
Keep the hosting, email, push and app-store accounts under the publisher’s control. Decide who approves publication and who checks failed scheduled jobs. Test any payment or AI integration with your own sandbox credentials before enabling it for readers.
Troubleshooting and buying questions
The public CodeCanyon comments were unavailable when checked. The questions below come from the author’s documentation.
Why is my scheduled article or newsletter late?
Check the application time zone, the scheduler health check and the queue worker. The author documents separate background processing for campaigns and push. Try one test job and verify that it runs before relying on scheduled sends.
What if the site keeps sending me to /install?
The installation guide says this occurs until setup completes. Check the database and writable storage in the installer. For an existing newsroom, inspect the configuration and restore from a backup if needed before attempting any reinstallation.
